Heel Drop Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Hi all, Please can you help me. I have replaced almost everything that can make a cracking noise like this but still it won't go away. Does someone maybe know the possible reasons for this sound in my video above. I replaced the following already - SprocketRear DerailerChainBB You would really make my year if you can give me the solution because I don't know anymore. Kind regardsJaco Its not your bike ( the good news) its the curse of the cracking noise( the bad news) and when it finds you beware - glad is not me this time
Shaun Green Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Does the frame have any internal cable routing? Especially for continuous outers running inside the frame? If so, try adjusting (pulling or pushing) the outer(s) a bit. It may simply be that some spirited riding has introduced too much slack into the concealed portion of the cable, and now the extra length is rattling against the inside of the frame. You might try to remove the slack: just pull it a bit tighter by hand. If this works, maybe tighten any associated cable ties. I can also recommend a little carefully targeted grease between the saddle rails and seat post clamp.
Gregc Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 If it has a fox fork it could be your crown steerer like I discovered after my warranty expired
