tighten your skewer as much as possible (after cleaning it and applying a thin layer of grease)

edit: that's what solved my problem

Thanks!! Had a creak on my bike for a few months. Followed your advice yesterday and ride was completely creak-free today!!

Hi all,

Please can you help me. I have replaced almost everything that can make a cracking noise like this but still it won't go away. Does someone maybe know the possible reasons for this sound in my video above.

I replaced the following already -

Sprocket

Rear Derailer

Chain

BB

You would really make my year if you can give me the solution because I don't know anymore.

Kind regards

Jaco

Its not your bike ( the good news) its the curse of the cracking noise( the bad news) and when it finds you beware - glad is not me this time

Does the frame have any internal cable routing? Especially for continuous outers running inside the frame?

If so, try adjusting (pulling or pushing) the outer(s) a bit. It may simply be that some spirited riding has introduced too much slack into the concealed portion of the cable, and now the extra length is rattling against the inside of the frame.

You might try to remove the slack: just pull it a bit tighter by hand. If this works, maybe tighten any associated cable ties.

I can also recommend a little carefully targeted grease between the saddle rails and seat post clamp.
