MTB through axle on a IDT

Has anyone done this and if how?

To give you a proper answer.

1. I bought a Tacx Blue Matic at Cycle Lab. Was around R2200 if I remember correctly.

Trainer adjustable cap was removed to open up the trainer lock with a extra 20mm ish to be able to fit the Boost TA sizing

2. Bought a TA from Solomons at R580. (This highly depends on what TA you have rear. There are 3 different threads. Mine was the coarse thread)

I had to get the T-2101. I know tacx has one as well but it didn't support my boost setup on the Sola1 Silverback as it was to short. Its a T1708 or something on the coarse thread from Tacx

3. I have a TA set of Mavics for my MTB outside riding so I used the original wheels that came with the bike to put a thin profile trainer tyre on it. Tyre was a 700-23 i think (Was R70 at Cycle lab) with a tube to inflate (R50). The important part here is that it has to be a thin small tyre else it wont fit in the trainer

Optional:

4. Bought a extra M7000 cassette to put on my trainer wheel so that I could just swap out rear wheels when I wanted to use the IDT

You will need to buy a special TA that will fit your bike for one and fit your trainer. You cant use the TA that comes with the bike no matter what it looks like.

The trainer TA's have caps on both sides that's longer and tapered so that the trainer can clamp on the TA and not the bike
