This is the most sense I have seen on the hub for a while.

The idea is to get best value at a particular function point.

Ultegra is hard to beat. Just as Kycerium elite wheels are hard to beat at 3k. Yes the SL's are better, but for double the money I think not.

Mavic 819 hoops are anotehr sweet spot rather than screw around with Stans conversion kits etc.

I agree with buying what you can afford.  I purely bought the Red stuff for the bling value, no other reason!
