We are spoilt for choice in the Western Cape with mtb trails. Check out Ride Inn in Stellenbosch for bike hire.

These are the trails I'd recommend based on what you're looking for:

Stellenbosch:

Muratie wine farm (fun and flowy)

Jonkershoek Nature Reserve (lots of different trails for different levels. Tough climbs, but rewarded with fun downs)

Eden, G spot and Mont Marie (fun and flowy with optional jumps etc) check out the Stellenbosch Trail Fund website.

Somerset West:

Helderberg trails (different trails for different levels. Challenging but fun)

Grabouw:

Paul Cluver (fun and flowy)

Oak Valley (fun and flowy)

Paarl and Wellington:

Rhebokskloof (challenging and fun)

Welvanpas (challenging and fun)

If you do the Garden Route (coastal trip towards Knysna), I highly recommend the Garden Route Trail Park.

For what you're looking for, I think first choice would be Murati, Paul Cluver, Oak Valley and Garden Route Trail Park.

I don't know the trails closer to Cape Town city, but sure other peeps can help you with those :)

Feel free to shout when you're here. We've always got a fun ride planned :)

Hire a bike from Ride inn cafe Stellenbosch...Jonkershoek http://www.ridein.co.za/

They mainly do Spez Epics and few other...good food and beer after your ride.

or inbox me for my number and you can join me during the week or weekends for possible rides around Stellenbosch area

Thank you very much guys.. I'll check it wwith love. Hope to see you around. Just one more question about bike hire. Do you know if they come with shimano or CB cleats? and the most difficult, is there any bike with dropper seatpost? I'm very used to it ;)

Sun mornings usually a Tokai std unless otherwise specified. Start when the gate opens.

Is tokai relatively busy on weekend mornings? I do quite a bit of riding on my own & I tend to go for the trails where there's a decent amount of activity...just in case.

Quite keen to check out tokai, I haven't yet!

Not sure what the arrangement is with Ride In, but you can contact them: www.ridein.co.za

There's also iRide Africa who do bike rental. I see most of their bikes have dropper posts. I'm sure they'll have a variety of peddles. Www.irideafrica.com
