  1. @Bikalot Apologies for the delayed response. This is awesome! It sounds like @Titan Racing Bikes would make great use of the kit and helmets 😊 Alternatively, please connect with Lubabalo, who leads the team in Khayelitsha, on +27605884755. I'm based in Garden Route now so not able to be as involved 🙏
  2. My phone navigation buttons disappear on the Bike Hub site. I have to kinda pull the navigation bar up from the very bottom of my screen. Took me a while to figure this out as it doesn't happen on any other apps. But when I do that, I can push my phone's back button and it goes back to my filtered adds. Hope that helps 😁
  3. This is awesome! Thank you! Please pop me a whatsapp on 061 479 2496 so that I can arrange with you.
  4. I know a couple of development teams in Khayelitsha and Strand who would hugely appreciate it. Where are you based? Please connect with me if you haven't got someone yet. On 061 479 2496.
  5. Feelgood FriYAY! Delivered a car-load of hugely appreciated parts and kit to Lubabalo! Thank you for all the donations, and to @Nick and @Zebra for gathering the goods! Both have agreed to be drop-off points for future. Lubabalo has a car and can collect from you every few months. In addition to encouraging cycling in youth, they also arrange tutoring for team members who are struggling at school. Your donated parts and kit literally change lives 💫 Anyone else feeling moved to donate, please connect with Lubabalo on 060 588 4755. Tyres, tubes (even holy ones 😉), and older groupset parts are a constant need.
  6. Woohoo! Thank you for being a central point for all these much needed things! And to everyone who is so generously donating 🙏
  7. Wow this is like Santa's workshop! Thank you! Most of the guys ride road bikes, and there are a few that ride mtb. Old road bike groupsets and wheels are the most difficult things to find, and the most needed. This is amazing, thank you! 💫
  8. Always welcome! They will grow into these, or the team can sell them to fund their cycling activities 🙏
  9. Awesome, thank you so much, Chris! I will connect with you via whatsapp to arrange. I'm that side again on the 20th. Much appreciated 🙏
  10. I dropped some donated goodies off for the Khayelitsha team this morning. They are super appreciative 🙏 Three teams have an opportunity to do Wines 2 Whales this year. They are looking for some help with MTB tyres, nutrition, and a cycling computer per team. Anyone out there have any of these you'd be willing to donate? 😁
  11. This excites me! Thank you so much Nick! This is exactly what the team needs 🙏
  12. Thank you sooo much for the support 🙏 Great to meet you too!
  13. Thank you for the bump 🙏 And appreciate the offer of kit donation - that's perfect! Will DM you. Also any "disposable" things - tyres, tubes (with a puncture is fine), bar tape... these seem to be the greatest needs.
  14. Anyone out there keen to change some young lives? There is a Development Team in Khayelitsha in need of some consistent support (not necessarily financial support). It starts with just getting donated kit and spares to them. They use EVERYTHING. I've been doing this with a team in Nomzamo/Lwandle for a couple of years, and have seen the life changing impact first hand. The team needs someone who is active in the cycling community and has a passion for helping youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. It's up to the person how much time to put in, but I suggest starting as follows: - Put the word out regularly to their cycling community and local bike shops to donate any kit and spares (including holy tubes, which the team patch and reuse). Arrange drop off points or collect every month or 2. Bike shops are generally very happy to act as drop-off points. - Arrange with the Team Manager in Khayelitsha to give the stuff to him every month or 2. He's based in a safer area in Khayelitsha (I've dropped things off there often), but I'm sure he can arrange pickup from somewhere else if needed. It can evolve into something greater, like getting the team involved in fundraising (I do this for the Wine Lands Cycling Club), if someone wants to do that. But regular spares and kit is a life changing start, and doesn't require much time and effort. Just consistency. The team has a great team manager, Lubabalo. He works in IT full time (mostly from home in Khayelitsha) and he does the best he can with what he can access. He's lovely to connect with. More info about the team here: https://www.facebook.com/WWW.BONGACYCLINGACADEMY.ORG?mibextid=ZbWKwL Please connect with me if you feel moved to help... Or maybe there's a cycling club or team who want to own this Kim 061 479 2496
  15. Give purpose to your unfortunate punctures by donating your holy tubes to a development team or put it in donation boxes found at most bike shops. I connect with a few development teams - tyres and tubes are an ongoing need, especially in the locations where roads are littered with glass and potholes. They will patch the tube 10 times before throwing it away, so will gratefully receive a holy tube, repair it, and reuse it. Putting this out there as many people don't think about it Bonus points for throwing in some patches and glue 😉
  16. I've been connecting with a young gent, Atlehang, over the past couple of years. He was riding with a school, but is now 20 years old and looking for a mountain bike team to join. He's dedicated, passionate about bikes (he often sends me pics of his latest bike build), a "go-getter", and has lots of potential. Are there any mountain biking teams looking for a Development Rider? He's based in the Helderberg area, but can relocate. He's lived in Stellenbosch before too.
  17. Look out for the Warriors on Wheels! We're starting at 7:51 and expect a long but fun day in the saddle! Give us a push (especially the e-bikers) or a song as you go by. Our Warrior, Cassidy, is a Wheelchair Dancer with heart for winning! She will be pulled by the legendary Wimpie van der Merwe, and pushed by hubby and I (I may have got him drunk and signed him up before he knew what we were doing). Excited to experience the CTCT in a very different way this year Thanks to ASLA Foundation for sponsoring our team 💛
  18. We've used Go-Cycle in Somerset West for our DC kit since 2017. Great quality and nice design work by Andreas. I still proudly wear all my DC kit. My 2017 bibs only went into the bin last week... they lasted through a crash, and many happy miles
  19. Hello Dears 😜, The site host is aware of the issue and looking into it.
  20. Eish these dodgy people get in everywhere. I'm on the Wine Lands Club committee (although completely unrelated portfolio so please don't throw website stuff at me 🫣) I have alerted the committee to raise with the correct person.
  21. Thank you for your thoughtful generosity! I collect kit and spares in the Helderberg area. People also drop things off at our LBS - VeloLife and PedalWorx. Most goes to a development team (Blue Sky Cycling Academy) in the Nomzamo area, of about 30 youth. I'm also connected to some development teams in Khayelitsha, so some things go that way too. Our Nomzamo team have an informal thrift shop where they sell items for super low prices, as a way of generating funds for their team. Here's more info: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/XEEgJj8MiC4E5JRe/?mibextid=qi2Omg I come through to town for work fairly regularly. Happy to collect things that side
  22. This is awesome! Where are you based? I've got about 30 development riders in the Strand area, and connected to teams in Khayelitsha too. Western Cape.
  23. Hellooo! There is a WP Track Racing event at the Bellville Velodrome on Heritage Day (24th Sept). I am organizing a group ride with various development teams in the area to go and spectate. A safe bike parking zone will be allocated at the centre of the track, and I am trying to source standing bike racks for that. I expect there will be about 50 bikes... maybe more. Does anyone know where we could get hold of some for the day?
  24. Does anyone have the outside part of the front derailleur cage for Campagnolo Super Record pre 2015 for me to buy? It seems like an easy part to replace without needing a whole new front derailleur. Hubby has done a temporary fix with a hot melt glue gun, but I don't think the Campi gods will let that fly for much longer.
