Hey guys, pls can you advise me with a wheelset purchase for a 26" AM bike build. (Front 15mm TA; Rear 12x135mm TA). Not too concerned about weight. Just needs to be able to take the bashes. Will run tubeless. On a super tight budget, so at this point my options are rather limited...

1. Complete Wheel: Mavic Crossride Set (for 199) - rim width 21mm. Joint: sleeved; 24 spokes, bladed.

2. Wheel build: Dartmoor Raider Rims - rim width 24mm (60 for 2) + Novatec front hub (30) + Novatec rear hub (€72) + spokes (€0.41 ea) + build cost. 32/36 holes. Joint: pinned?

The appeal of the Dartmoors over the Mavics is the slightly wider rim & better hubs. But for 3mm width, is it worth the fuss? Pls give advice and let me know if I'm overlooking anything. Shot.

Dartmoor rims are awesome. I had a set of raiders that traveled between my am bike and dirt jumper. And just bought a set again now.

They can easily be converted to tubeless as well. stupid question, where are you going to source the dartmoors from?

The Dartmoors are selling at 26Bikes.com. They have the Raiders v.2 for €27.90.

That is not a bad price, Bought a set for R1200 locally. will work out roughly the same with shipping and customs duties.

CRC is having a special on their nukeproofs as well.

Still deciding if I should pull the trigger on a set of these

Those are frikkin light for the design... AFAIK lighter than the dartmoors... if that makes a difference to you. Just remember that shipping rims through CRC carries a R600 shipping charge if you use DHL (and I wouldn't use any other form of shipping)
