Where to buy a BMX

A quick google pops up these two:

http://evalsbmx.co.za/

http://bmxdirect.net

Personally have I never dealt with any of them.

Also give Thrashers skate park in Pta a call, some time ago they had a few bikes in stock. I know the park is still in operation but unsure regarding the store.

Thanks for the reply. BMX direct seems to only sell parts. I'll follow up with Evals because it seems more they haven't updated their site since 2016.

Give the guys at BMX Direct a shout - they have been around longer than any others, and are very involved at all levels (and ride themselves) so could probably give you the best advice as to where to look for the right bike!

Are there any good places to buy a new BMX in SA? Looking for brands like wethepeople, Cult or Jet but also open to other recomendations.

It won't be for racing, but still looking for something reasonably light to cruise the street and maybe with pegs as well.

Something like this:

BMX Direct has a rider on the Cult flow team.  Mr Hanky (Schögn Lee) is now living in Taiwan and I am not sure who is running the shop.  But they have scaled down and not sure if you can get a complete bike - they used to be based near the skate park in Durban.  Probably between them and Evals best option for spares.

Evals has BSD and they have a few riders on flow - based in Joburg, probably your best bet on a decent complete bike.

Salvo makes frames, not sure if Tobie sells complete bikes. Day Life does make frames and excellent parts, but again doesn't sell complete bikes.  Both are based in the Cape Town area.

The Durban area has got a group of riders that often ride at the skate park - small community and they generally know what is happening in terms of where to get bikes and parts.

There is a guy who brings in Odyssey (Snoer, Joburg) but not sure if he does complete bikes.

Sportsmans Warehouse sells Mongoose

From my experience most guys buy a frame and then build - at about 10K.  Probably best to buy second hand - seen some good BSD, FIT and United bikes floating around at reasonable prices.  DayLife make awesome sprockets, stems and pegs.
