Hi Chrismaester. Funny enough not as harsh as one would think. I have a steel frame, apparently it's a bit more forgiving than alu or carbon but I cannot confirm or deny that. I find that I very quickly learn how to choose my lines with a lot more care. How tall are you? I'm 1.86 and ride a large, if you're close to my length you're welcome to come by and have a look at the bike or take it for a spin up the road (I'm not keen on dropping the seat height as I do not want to scratch the seat post  ). I have a fairly nice climb with a fun little dirt section right in front of my house

Good day mate,

Thanks for the reply.

yeah I am 1.9m also doing a large build. I must just add that I am not the smallest Mtber, in fact probably biggest... :whistling:

I always rode a 1x10 gear setup with suspension forks, but am building something new...

Feel free to check it out on the Build projects section under "Steel is real"

I know that single speed will save a lot on maintenance. but I also feel that it does this frame justice. I can also get the matching steel fork for this machine, hence the query.

I  just don't want to purchase, and then regret a rigid single speed setup..

I live in Glen Austin, so not far away...

Ok cool. That is a pretty frame btw. Will comment on the thread.

Well drop me a PM and we can arrange a meet.

Thanks, will do!

We should ride together here, as safety is always a concern.

Hi Chris

Where/when do you ride? I'm keen to start riding in the evenings (probably twice a week from about 17h30 onward). So far I have not really considered riding on the road and I'm aiming towards riding PWC, however I'm open to suggestions.

So SORRY for the misspelling of Centurion - for those who think it is a serious offence..

You are forgiven  :whistling:

Have you healed up yet after the argument with gravity? If you're keen lets do a ride after work on Thursday? Lets say from about 17h00/17h30'ish depending on traffic, until about 7pm (if light will permit) at BRB?

Yes all fixed up Thank you. Did the Dullstroom race this past weekend. Tough as nails I must admit. Whole lot of pushing going on.. Is BRB not closing at 5pm and don't permit riding after that? Maybe we can find out. Also doing the Crater Cruise in Parys this weekend so maybe next week is a better option? I know I am full of excuses but just bad timing.. (Pardon any spelling mistakes)

Also when last were you at BRB - I was there 10 days ago, the place all but burned down. All the cycling bridges burned, fallen trees and all sorts. I rode about 10kms and stopped only to be told afterwards the tracks are actually closed. I am sure they fixed it though.

No worries. Will do it next week. I'm trying to get into riding a few times during the week.

Oh this is horrible :( !! I was there about a month ago. Had no issues on the trails and all the bridges were still there.
