Okay so I bought 2017 Enduro 6fattie and took it on its maiden voyage down all the DH lines at tokai yesterday and yassis, that thing properly handles like a downhill bike! Super stable. Ate up drops and rock gardens. I'm sure it's also thanks to the 2.8 tires. The only thing is the bike climbs like a 3 legged donkey. I made it to the top each time but I don't see myself smashing 50km rides on that tank.

So asking for one more piece of advice, buy a set of solid 29er rims for this bike, or for the same price buy a 29" hard tail just for my XC rides.

There's a 2017 specialized Rockhopper comp for 8k, almost new

Thoughts?

Proper set of 29ers will transform the way it rides. Much better investment than a cheap hardtail.

I Didn't buy boost 9r wheels, although my plus are boost specific. My 9r wheels have a spacer in the front with a rotor spacer. And my back wheel has a end cap on and rotor spacer . The back was dished and now it's plug & play as they have the same rotors on. No messing no fuss just swap wheel over.

You can buy the spacers for the back as well if there is no end cap available.

This is what you need :

Or this

Wolf tooth make adapters for i9 hub's front & back.

Specialized also make these adapters ( this is the one I use )

As for not as stiff with the end caps.... I can't feel the difference as I have a set off sun ringle boost wheels as well fir back up ,and I cannot feel the difference in proper boost hub's and fitting end caps despite what journos say.

If you want any more info on spacers etc just ask. Have been researching & checking options on this for months .
