After hours riding (MTB)

Hey guys

I have started riding more and more. However working fairly fixed (from my experience here I'm most likely one of only a few with fairly fixed hours) makes riding during the week less fun.

So for the MTB guys, do you turn into roadies for the week day rides or are you only riding weekends? I live about 15min from PWC park. Is it a viable option to go do a ride there twice a week (all you can ride pass at R200 odd a month)? I see they close at 6pm, how does it work if you're still out on the trail at that time?

Also would anyone be keen on joining such a ride?

Most of the guys I rode with moved to indoor training during the winter months.

So they would ride indoor during the week and then ride outside weekends.

I live in Pta, my schedule is as follows:

Monday - Rest

Tuesday - Night Ride at Wolwespruit

Wednesday - Indoor

Thursday - Indoor

Friday - Rest

Saturday - Long XC Ride

Sunday - Trail/Enduro fun ride.

Very hard to fit cycling in during the week when you have fixed hours, especially during winter when it is dark. So my suggestion is get a gym membership or indoor trainer if you really wanna be consistent in your training. Once summer hits it is a bit easier to get those super early morning or after work rides in - but I still don't. With 3 rides a week maintenance on the bikes is already sky high, and on top of that getting to good riding spots means 30mins in the car for me which just makes it impractical during the week. Road riding not an option in Pretoria IMO - feels like a death wish every time I have attempted it.
