XT M8000 Shifter

Bought a XT 11 Speed upgrade kit. Setup was Sram X9. When I chose the XT shifter I chose the rear I Spec II thinking it would fit. Now that the stuff has arrived and took of the old stuff I noticed that the XT shifter is way different from the Sram. The Sram bolts on the bracket of the brakes(Magura), and do not see a way to fit the XT shifter.

This is pic of the Sram Shifter and the configuration to bolt onto the brakes.

This is the XT Shifter with its bracket.

What is my options to mount or should I return and ask for the rear I Spec B which does have it own conventional bracket on the shifter itself?

Thanks

Contact Evobikes, ask for the following: "Problem Solver Mismatch Adapter."

Edit: I see you are in the West Rand. Go to Westrand Cycles, they will be able to sort you out quickly. Eben is your go to guy there. (also the Owner and a moerse nice oke)

Either get the problem solvers or swap the shifter for a clamp mount.  i-spec B also mounts onto the brakes, but only if you have Shimano brakes.  You mentioned Magura, so if you have those then clamp mount is your only option (or problem solvers).

As long as you stick with a particular mounting type i.e. I spec B or I spec II, then you can mix and match any shifter and brake lever in Shimano's various model ranges as long as they both have the same mounting spec.

Clamp mount is what you want if you are mixing Sram with Shimano or I spec B with I spec II etc.

I was in a similar pinch last month when I wanted to upgrade to 1x11 but could only find i-spec shifters. Ended up getting a little KCNC matchmaker from Mark's Bicycle Workshop in Bellville for a cool R150 which sorted that right out. Now I've got a normal bar mount shifter that I can always gooi on a i-spec brake lever if I ever get one.
