Fat bike tyres.. Blowing off rim

Got a demo fat bike for the weekend. Yay!

Can't pump up the one tyre, anything above 5psi and the bead just pops out. It's a vee 4,7 tyre on a sun tingle rim, with a 4,25 tube inside. Think the tyre used to be tubeless too.

I'm a long way from any bike shop. Am thinking I will just loop some cord through each spoke hole and then just pump up almost like a snow chain.

Other suggestions?

I have a feeling that the tube is not wide enough. Depending on the terrain you want to ride, 5 psi should be fine. You might need to push a bit harder though.

Just took a length of ski rope and looped it around, once pumped up it came nice and tight and was totally rideable.

It was a demo bike, and my first time on a FAT Bike, and these are monster tyres. clearly tyre pressure is a huge deal in these bikes - and my floor pump doesn't really register much accuracy below 10psi.
