Karkloof 100 this weekend

Guys just a reminder, Karkloof 100 will be using sections of the trails this weekend for the 50 and 100 mile trail run, so just take care and keep an eye out for runners on certain sections, you will see the lumo trail markers for the runners.

Yes, thanks for this Dave.

 

The 100 mile runners are heading out at 10pm on Friday night from Yard 41 (in Howick) and should be through the Karkloof section before morning breaks so it is unlikely that riders will be affected at all on Saturday.

 

The route then heads towards Mbona after which the runners then follow the same path back, so there is a chance that normal day riders and by that time zombie runners may pass each other at some point on Sunday morning. We expect the runners to be very spread out and we ask that riders please give the runners right of way. 

 

Trails for all users remain open as per any other day and day fees/indemnities apply to all non-participants and must be paid for at the Karkloof Country Club.

The route has also been marked by KZNTR with lumo-yellow ribbon and relatively close intervals, which will be removed once the event has been completed.
