ALza Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Hi all I'd be interested to know if anyone has any riding on a recent Giant defy, or Cannondale Synapse?The 2018s look to be around R30k for the Giant and R35k for the Cannondale. Basically the same spec of disc brakes, 105 components. There are a couple of other bikes in that R35k range (Specialized, BMC, Scott), that are also under consideration. One concern is whether the Giant discs are actually hydraulic, or using the slightly strange semi-hydraulic system of some of their bikes. I'll still get around to test riding some of them, but trying to do some research in advance. Thanks.
ALza Posted October 19, 2017 Author Posted October 19, 2017 It is worth mentioning that the price of the Synapse is the same as the 2017 BMC Roadmachine, with exactly the same specs, which becomes a difficult choice.
nickc Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Any chance you can ride both of them. I have ridden the Synapse and it was brilliant but unfortunately have not ridden the BMC.
