Fit new Cleats / Position

Hi Guys,

I have bought new shoes and have to install new cleats . What is the best way to measure the position  ?

my last pair of shoes was setup with my bike fitment but based on upon this video it seems more accurate way of doing it....never considered that the cleat position can be different for either shoe.

I found that cleat angle greatly affected knee pain. I first lined my cleats up with the center of the heel using a steel straight edge. Knees hurt badly. The ideal position for me was to locate the cleats at a slight angle so my feet toed out slightly the same way as when we walk. Never had knee pain since and i am 75.

If you have the old shoes you can "copy" the position onto the new shoes by measuring and extrapolating lines.  I have read articles and even made up a jig but if starting from scratch I would get a fitment specialist to do mine.
