Aramex Shop and Ship and bike frames

Anyone used this service to import a bike or frame? Their fees calculator seems to only go on weight and not dimensions so it seems pretty reasonable.

 

I have used them a lot for small items in the past and service has varied from excellent to not great recently. Hard to work out if that is customs related or Aramex themselves. Anyone else find that?

I think i did a small write up on my experience using eBay and shop and ship.

 

Mine was easy peasy once in the hands of Aramex less than a week and my frame was at my door

Have also bought a frame on ebay and use aramex global shopper to get it shipped from USA. No hassle at all.

 

Most of the delays I have experienced with Aramex was due to customs. Have used aramex quite a lot to build 2 bikes with pretty much all components bought on ebay auctions.

I've also done the same but never bought a frame. If it's based on weight alone the shipping cost for a frame would be less then R1,000. Pretty damn good.

Was about a year ago I did it, was for a TT frame and was not a lot from what I can remember and was very happy with the whole process
