Freebody Spacer Rings

Could somebody please point me in the right direction here.

I got a set of American Classic wide lighting wheels (2017) and presume the Freebody is a 11 Speed. I am running a 10 Speed and got the different Spacer rings with the wheels to convert to 10 speed.

In the Wheels boks there is two rings.

* 0.5 mm

* 1.85 mm

and then there is a ring that comes with the new cassette as well.

So, please can somebody tell me what rings should be used on the Freebody to run 10 speed cassette?

MTB freebodies should all be the same i.e.e a 10 speed MTB cassette and 11 speed and for that matter 8 & 9 speed will all fir on the same cassette body. It's only Sram 11 & 12 speed cassettes that require a special XD driver.

It is only on road bikes where the 11 speed cassette is slightly wider than 8,9 & 10 speed, so thus requires a slightly "deeper" machined freebody to compensate.

So, to answer your question, only use the thin spacer that came with the cassette. This is the theory any. If the cassette is loose, use the 0.5mm, if it is still loose, use the 1.85mm. A little bit of common sense can sometimes go a long way.

its 1min to put the cassette, 1min to take off

first try the 0.5 spacer, see if any play in the cassette.

if yes, use the 1.85 spacer, ride and be happy.

Thank you for you responce, however if you did not want to answer the question then just scroll on....a little bit of patience can sometimes go a long way.

He did answer your question. You seem to not understand him? Was it the last line that got you to see red and lose reason?

Here goes:

You assume that it is an 11spd freebody, but I think you need to distinguish first whether it is a shimano or SRAM freebody. American classic makes freebodies for both.

The shimano 10 and 11spd MTB freebodies are the same. So if it is a shimano compatible AC freebody you won't need to change anything. Use the spacers to adjust your chain line. ie I use a 0.5mm spacer to move my cassette slightly outboard as it works better with my 1x10 setup.

If it has a SRAM XD freebody on it, then your 10spd won't work, even if it is sram.
