Struggling with Deciding MTB shoes

I am up for new MTB shoes!

But struggling to decide between the two options i have narrowed it down to...

Either the Catlike Whisper MTB shoes    OR  Specialized Comp MTB Shoe

Just looking for some comments on the diff and why someone would choose one of these above the other

aaaaand go!

I have the spaz and I'm very happy with them.

some people struggle with them as they are tight over the bridge of your foot.

I have a red pair of Specialzed Comps and they are awesome! Extremely durable. I have had a few knocks against them going through rock gardens. No marks, dirt just wipes off

Also another vote for for the Spaz shoes. I find all of their contact point products (saddles, grips, shoes, helmets, etc.) to be very well thought out, comfy, and durable. Been through a few sets of shoes and the Specialized ones are my favourite by far.

EDIT: I can't comment on catlike at all, never had any of their products. But... they do look quite snazy.

I’ve been a Spaz mtb shoe user for about 15 years now... the last 8 years or so with the top of range S Works model.

I know it’s not on your list but I thought I would share my experience as the Comp might be similar.

Just bought a new 2018 s works pair again now.... and I have to say I’m somewhat disappointed with the feel and comfort of the shoe toe box upper material and tongue.

Toe box upper feels very rigid and hard.

The tongue is very thin and too hard, especially at the top end where it meets the ankle. Also the tongue I find always needs to be pulled straight and adjusted when putting on the shoes and sometimes while riding... it just does not seem to sit properly.

Good luck with your choice
