Titan Calypso 24" disc brake upgrade

Hi all,

I have recently bought my daughter a pre-owned Titan Calypso 24" bike with normal v-brakes. I see that the new models have either v-brakes or disc brakes and I was wondering if there was an upgrade kit available that could be retrofitted. At the same time, I wondered if I could convert to tubeless rims & tyres.

Any feedback would be great

Thanks in advance

I would be interested to hear thehub experts opinion on this. My gut feel is that it is not a trivial excercise and probably not worth the effort if it can be done. Would probably be easier & cheaper to sell the bike and buy a children bike that already have disc brakes

It's not worth it. You'll need a new frame with disc mounts, a new fork with disc mounts and the brakes themselves. If you can find a 24 inch frame and fork is another story.

As previously mentioned, it will be cheaper to buy a disc bike.

I have heard of adaptors that can be mounted to the frame, but have no idea where you would get them from and what they would cost.

I doubt you can get tubeless tyres for a 24 inch bike. If you do, they are probably not that common
