Sadly my experience was not the same. My bike was there for a groupset to be fitted before the PPA One tonner race. Got the bike back and noticed during the race that once I drop from big blade to small it wouldn't go back onto the big blade. After many attempts of changing rear and front it would eventually jump back on forcing me to stay on big blade the entire race (made me stronger though).  I took it back and was told it's the trimming function on the dura ace 9000 (immediately regretted changing from 6800 to 9000). I left the shop, continued for a couple of days and the a fellow hubber offered to have a look and found that the little screw on the front derailleur that pushes against the frame was not set leaving the derailleur misaligned to crank/ chain/ cassette (those that know the groupset will know what I am talking about). Took him a few minutes and after that I could cross chain without the trimming function. I will not mention his name, but I am hoping he'll assist with my next build as I have lost faith in bike shops.
