  1. I think the first question you need to ask, do you enjoy grinding or spinning. I'm 1.68 on a 52cm with 170mm crank, 53/39 and 11/28. I am a low cadence rider though. 39 and 28 will get me up most hills in Cape town. If you prefer high cadence, then the 50 - 32 will be a good option. Have you considered 52/36 and 11/32?
  2. They must arrest him too... I see here's another profile on bike hub selling watches with no boxes or chargers.
  3. I think this could be the problem. OSPW requires a longer chain.
  4. Reminds me of my apprentice days, a valuable lesson I learnt back then. Tried helping someone with a water damaged laptop, only had light on power button. Opened, cleaned, inspected and noticed the level of corrosion damage was to severe. Closed, and when I gave it back, the light no longer came on and was then blamed for breaking the device. From that day onwards, if it's broken, I can't break it further. "dead, dead and dead"
  5. If you have the time... check out precisionbicycles_za on Instagram... That will give you some background of who I am.
  6. I will definitely take this on.. service the unit too.
  7. If you in Cape Town, I'll give it go... I am an Electronics expert though. 😁
  8. Not really, but if the options are to service a unit by me OR 20K, I would choose me any day of the week.
  9. @avatar what do you think 😎
  10. Crash course on Youtube completed.
  11. I think when the time comes, it's something I would try doing myself. If you do have a Kickr that does require a service, feel free to contact me and I will give it a go. Please note, if the unit is faulty, I can only make it worse OR get it right 🤣
  12. I would definitely replace the battery. Easy fix if you know what you're doing.
  13. The sad reality is that someone on this forum knows who the culprit is. SHAME ON YOU!
  14. Just use Bike hub pay and take the wheels to a shop of your choice. Once you're happy with it, close the deal.
  15. Offer them half the item.. the more we negotiate, the more I remove.
  16. I’m starting to think someone close to him could have used his profile to make a quick buck and now he’s scrambling to make it right. Might be wrong, but he’s not running away. Ek weet ook nie.
  17. I’ve always switched between Fenix and Apple since the start. Since the new series 7 apple, I’ve finally found a watch I am happy with. Personally the wrist heart rate is way better vs Garmin, it’s lighter and I can live with more then 18 hours battery life. The only issue I find with the Apple Watch is the smell on my wrist after I remove it. Edge 830 for the bikes and apple for the rest.
  18. I always try to see the best in people… @ysteryeti, you sir, you deserve everything that’s heading way. Whether you a scammer or not, jyt n KUK gedagte.
  19. dianne@triptychsa.co.za Very professional and good pricing. Just email volume, pick up and drop off and they will send you a quote. The important thing is when boxing the wheels, wrap individually and pack separately. She packing together, place the freehub on the outer side. I received wheels with the freehub on the inside and and was a very long unpleasant experience after that. Thankfully the seller was willing to rectify.
  20. @Swannie87 can you post pictures of the frame and fork?
  21. I actually think this was more of an interest free loan vs selling a bike. He was in need of cash and the hub was the easiest option. I also think he is waiting for a payday and then will refund everyone involved.. if I can give you some advice.. honesty will get you much further in life. Be honest about your situation and maybe the buyers will try to understand and when your payday finally arrives, pay them back with interest too. You sold the bike to 3 different people, that makes you a fraud. I would’ve told you to keep your frame the moment you went from R5000 to R5500. To the buyers, ask him for honesty, after that, lay a charge.. R500 is one thing, but R5500, that’s a whole different story.
  22. I've had the exact same experience with KP. RD broke off during CTCT. The person I dealt with interrogated to the point that I told her that her behavior was unacceptable. They are most likely going to reject your claim as they did mine based on wear and tear. You then log an internal dispute because the Ombudsman state that in your case, the insurance must assume the worse case scenario and that could be a stone, stick etc.. once settled, get a new insurance.
