Hi all

Was trying to pump up my rear shock and the valve head parted company. (Probably crash related injury)

Can I unscrew the remaining piece from the valve head or is the shock toast ?

Looked down the inside of the valve to see if possible Allen socket to allow removal but nothing other than a hole in the middle.

VERY carefully screw in an easy out , new valves are available. '

contact Cogent industries for details or send the entire shock in , 10min job :)

I managed to get the valve out easily and then I decided to strip the shock to fit new lube oil inside and found one of the white plastic rings in the air cylinder got damaged and needs to be replaced.  (Assume it happened when the air escaped from broken schroeder valve and had to ride home on bottomed out shock.)

Where in Cape Town can I get a seal kit and the valve too ?

I only found so far at Cogent in Pretoria  but I can't wait that long for delivery.

Problem solved - for anyone else who wants to know, the valve assembly screws out with a 3/16" hex. The reason the OP couldn't see it is because it's in the bit that broke off.

And a lot poorer for that tiny bit of gold[emoji26]
