Magoebaskloof road race

I drove around both the Magoebaskloof routes this past week. The roads are in fair to good condition. I wonder if Tzaneen Cycling will re-introduce the Magoebas Classic, which was stopped about a decade ago when the Kloof road became a wreck and the Gov starting rehab on it.. Although only 70km in length, it was / is a serious workout, especially the climb up the pass. The Georges Valley road (homeward bound) has a lot of short hard climbs to hurt anybody who over-cooked the out section up the pass.

Came 30th on a Handgebrand.

Started at the Troutwater Inn which is now the Stanford College

Went up to the Georges Valley turn off

Down Georges Valley,across and back up Magoebas to the Inn
