who on earth would put R3k pedals on a mtn bike ?

I certailnly wouldn't' date=' but we usually run out of stock on the Eggbeater 4ti and Eggbeater 2ti first. We always have back orders for both models

Mr Look will probably have the same thing

[/quote']Yeah Shamus.....same here.

Shamus .. do you have any 2007 stock ? blue candy ?

You have to use black or silver pedals. 2 rides and you will not be able to see the colour.

The problem is that shoe is pressing on the wires that you?re clipped into.  So the main wear area is between the wire and the sole of your shoe' date=' around the cleat.  So they have a reputation of eating shoes.  <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Ox_Wagon is just about correct.

the area in contact with the shoe is smaller on the Eggbeater than on the Candy. With  the cleats set up correctly, using the shim or not, the sole should NOT be in contact with the wings ("wires").

However, shoes have different sole designs and some have a deeper cleat box than others. with some shoes no shim / protector is necessary.
I use shimano shoes, the cleat box is deep so I use the shim to orient the cleat closer to the pedal. on my previous DMT's it was not necessary.

apologies for the big pic, but it shows quite nicely the difference in contact area. looking at the 4Ti pedals, your shoe would be pressing the silver area next to the wings on eggbeater and the black area on the Candy

and while i am focused on this shimano doesnt need any shoe protector thingies ?

correct!!!

but all the contact with the shoe is centred around the cleat area, not on the studs surrounding the cleat box.

I am not Dissing their product, it is top quality stuff.

Nope

but I support good brands supported by good wholesalers. Mr Look is doing a stearling job and is raising the game in the pedal department.

2007 is so last year.

We have the 2008 Candy Sl in Dark blue

or the 2008 Candy C in Slate Blue.

we deal with most of the bike shops, many of them have stock.

if not just ask them to give a call
