Transporting a carbon road bike

Obviously the platform style bike racks are the better option, but is there any danger in transporting a carbon road bike on a rack that hangs the bike by the top tube ?

 

I've always ridden cheap ally bikes so was never an issue I've thought about.

Watch your wheels, especially carbon rims anywhere near the exhaust pipe.

I'd also put some sort of buffer on the frame where it clamps, after reading how fragile some of these carbon frames are...

I have had no hassles. Been transporting my bike for the last 8 years and no damage.
