M Hickley Posted December 8, 2018 Share Hi.Need some advice please. I bought a new Silverback Sido. The rear suspension starter squeaking after 5 rides. I suspect that it might be the tophat bushes. Is it wise to use something like WD40 on them. I already checked the torque settings and everything is fine. I also used copper compound on the seatpost when I assembled it.Thanks
Sharkie 2 Posted December 8, 2018 Share I would not use WD 40. Depends on the weather condition as well during the 5 rides. Did the LBS give you a 6 week inspection service with the bike?
M Hickley Posted December 8, 2018 Share I bought the bike online. The shop in question is 400km's away, so I'll have to take to my LBS for the check up.
BikeisLife Posted December 8, 2018 Share Pull all the pivots bolt out and grease all the bushings and washers, squeak should stop. Rapunzel
Me rida my bicycle Posted December 8, 2018 Share Sounds like a dry pivot agree with Dean grease the parts. I had the same problem with a new anthem couple years ago luckily I could take it back and they greased everything and never had a problem again. martinh Posted December 9, 2018 Share If it's the top linkage above the rear tire you might have the same problem I had. There are 4 washers in the linkage which have been pinched when they were installed. When I replaced mine the squeking was gone. It's a cheap fix, R20 per washer Edited December 9, 2018 by zefling Michard
