edkin Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 I use my bike for a commute and i thought it might be a nice project to install an electric motor. Looked on you tube and other sites and it seems to be an easy conversion. I contacted a local business in Cape Town just for the kit as I intend to install myself and while their prices are quite competitive I feel that if I could source the Bafang motor online somewhere it would be a little cheaper. Has anyone else tried to source these motors online somewhere? The websites that I keep hitting using Google like AliBaba and wantitall don't seem to ship to South Africa.

bikebloke Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Why not buy a small motorbike? because then you have to buy a small motorbike LICENCE and obey the small motorbike road rules .......so its SOOO much easier to clamp a lawnmower engine on a MTB and moer down the roads/pavements at 80kph ...........with those shitty caliper cable brakes ............oi
