Shimano XT 2x11 to SRAM 1x12

Had the 2x11 XT. 

Replaced it with 1x12

 

Running out of gears?  Nothing yet.  Done a couple of stage races and did a couple of serious climbs 16%+ gradient.  No issues yet.  And I did it with a friend that had 2x11 and he ran out of gears.     Just shows you.

 

Long story short

The one is not better than the other.  Shifting is different.  Depends on your personal taste.

I love my 1x12

The only thing better I think will be the AXS.....but that is a R30k jump I am not going to take any time soon.

I have 2 mtb's . Hardtail with 2 X 10 and DS with Eagle 1 X 12 .

With the 1 x12 you will be freeing up the space and it makes for lazy riding ( no need to plan ahead as to which front chainring to use )

But with the 2 X11 you have so many more options in terms of gears available . And there will be a day that the Eagle will fall short , either your chosen chainring will have too many or not enough tooth .

I am not a racing snake i converted to 1x12 eagle and i regret doing it will convert to 2x11! The simple reason that 1x12 does not have wear resintance to expesive for me to use sram 1x12

That's interesting because I know that with both the 2018 Spark 920 and 940 the dropper lever and remote lockout is an integrated unit.

Ye true story, i think this applies to the sparks running 1x SRAM drivetrain. The Sparks with XT have separate levers, as there isnt enough space underneath the bar to fit two separate levers. If Im going the 1x route, I will have to buy the inter-grated lever.

These bigger cogs wear out much quicker and are a lot more expensive to replace. More teeth means a little bit of chain stretch does a lot more damage.
