The idiots who vandalised the road are a couple of KM's from me, its the 3rd or 4th time they have done this and its been repaired a couple of times but they insist on continually damaging the road....they also damaged the alternative route that goes behind the squatter camp.....whining on because they want free electricity apparently....so the answer is to damage the road, there has already been a kid killed there because the dimwitted squatters removed the barricades and a truck driver went up there, had to swerve to avoid the hole (was the full length of the road, about 1m wide and almost half a meter deep) and wound up driving over a child....

Saw a post on whattsapp where some riders cycling in the area described finding themselves caught up with group of angry teens armed with sticks bricks etc, they managed to talk themselves out but as they were turning away the last rider caught a brick thrown at his back.

Sounds about right with that lot. They have also petrol bombed a train earlier this year. I would avoid anywhere near Orient Hills. Won't be long and they will be messing up that Maropeng road or trashing the intersection for Magalies/Kdorp/Maropeng/Randfontein.....

I always enjoyed the race very much and was looking forward to it.
