Trigon MTB's, particularly the SQC01?

I'm in the market for a second hand MTB.

I've seen a seemingly good deal on a Trigon SQC01.

I'm not very familiar with the brand. I searched for some opinions on the hub but most of what I saw was from a few years ago when they seemed to have first hit the market. Guys were still waiting to see if they'll stand the test of time.

Now here we are in 2019, has anyone formed an opinion on them yet? Is the Carbon decent?

Seen some people say they're just Ebay frames with stickers put on them, seen other guys say they're Taiwanese.

I was told by Willie who used to have Redhub Cycles (the importer of Trigon) that they used to make carbon bits for Pinarello....maybe, maybe not.

I have the later model than what you are looking at if it is the 2014 model advertised on Bikehub?

I got mine in 2017.

Awesome bike and you will struggle to match the weight and components at that price.

They are NOT e bay frames, if you google around you will see videos of how they are made up, just a small Taiwanese brand is my understanding.

I have recently bought a 2013 model Trigon MQC10 secondhand. It is a very solid bike. Some heresay is that their frames flex in the right places for a more forgiving ride, but is stiff enough at crucial points. The same factory built frames for well-known brands such as Specialized. Not sure if that is still the case.

You may struggle with local support if something goes wrong with the frame. Redhub used to import them, but I have yet to find any working details about their business.

Yep I'm looking at that 2014 one. Definitely seems like good bang for the buck. Just wanted to make sure it won't go bang too soon.

I'm happy to hear that they are indeed Taiwanese bikes. Its odd how many rumours there are regarding the bikes. Whether they share a bit of Pinarello or Spez DNA, or whether they're Ebay bikes, etc. Seems like they're a bit of an enigma.

Thanks for your input. Great to hear that you're enjoying the bike. Its cool to see some confirmation from them that they're actually the factory.

I suppose I'd never really expect much brand support when buying an old second hand bike. More just interested to hear about build quality, etc.

All sounds promising though!

Redhub as a cycle shop closed doors some months ago. He still stages some triathlon type events at Cradle Moon.

Willie still has some spares or you can import. Luckily...with ctossed fingers - irs usually the components that wear.

As I said, I had to have some bushes made but you can import.
