The unit was replaced. The previous unit was the first blue halo problem. One before that the screen just died. Apparently blue halo is common and known problem.

I trust your replacement unit is ok so far.

I had the blue halo problem on two of the Edge 820. My current Edge 1030 is 7 months old and has a clear blue halo!! Very frustrating.

Yet another visit to Garmin today....

So far so good but I'm not holding my breath. Its only 6 weeks old though. Usually it starts to happen around month 6

Agreed....seems to be the norm with all my units. I'm going to ask them if anything has been done regarding hardware or the screen TSC version for what it's worth.

If you're taking it in too Navworld, they will just tell you the truth that its common. Ever since they lost the repair agency they don't seem to have any incentive to offer glowing reviews any longer.

When I walked in the guy behind the counter saw i had a 1030 in my hand and asked "BlueHalo?"

It seems to affect all the colour screen units.

The moment Garmin drop me on a warranty claim I'm getting a Wahoo Element

Haha...thinking along the same lines.

Going straight to Garmin in Rosebank where I bought it from. I'll see what they have to say.

Navworld told me the same thing. Last time at Garmin the guy behind the counter tried to make out like he's never had a customer with a blue halo problem. Told him he obviously doesn't read the Garmin forums then....
