Did anyone previously used Power Meter City(https://powermetercity.com/)?

I'm want to buy a power meter, local price R12000.00, the same item at Power meter city is $590(R8400.00) with free delivery!

I haven't used them myself but know of others who have.

There was a small issue with the "free delivery".

Seems PMC underestimated the cost to ship to SA which exceeded what they were willing to cover and the difference needed to be paid in.

That may have changed now.

That’s exclusive of VAT and shipping.

Vat will R1260-00

There will likely be duty on that as well as it exceeds R5000

My other worry is what if there is warranty issues, will the local support cover it...R3800 is a big difference but if I have to send something back to them if needed, time, communication etc.

OK there is a local distributor for that unit. They offer very good service so I would encourage you to explore that option.

also make sure you have all the costs associated with importing your own unit. I was also going to do the same, but direct from Power2max.de and it worked out more expensive once taxes shipping and duties were paid.

in the end I was happy to buy from Bicycle Power trading as their service made the experience pleasant.

Bicycle Power is certainly one of the better distributors to deal with locally.

As DieselnDust says, make sure of all hidden costs to avoid surprises upon delivery.

The deal on PowerMeterCity while on paper sounds great, i can assume you there are plenty of other costs hidden in a purchase as such. Never mind that buying local ensures that in the unlikely event of product support being needed, you are covered.
