Also. Freehub must checked. If it fails to disengage this will explain everything.

With the chain off the freehub coasts like a buttery dream, these are solid Industry Nine hubs that are only 6 months old.

Haha not worth an insurance claim, new Sunrace Derailleur is only R1200

Will post update how it works

Or treat yourself to Shimano 1x12 with hyperglide+. Backpedaling issue solved for ever. Apparently.

I was actually considering a Shimano XT replacement!

As @morne said i cant find shifters online anywhere

yea I spoke to the guys at Evo and they mentioned that the local distro's didnt order or receive (or whatever) loose shifters  .

They are also one of the only online shops that show the new 12 speed shimano stuff (albeit incomplete) AFAIK.

They are receiving the new SLX and XT bits soon apparently. the full groupset is available ofcourse lol...as well as the XTR/sunrace upgrade

Okay so update for those who are interested...

As the XT shifters were only going to arrive in over a month and i was advised against a Sunrace derailleur event though it was the cheapest option and was compatible with my shifter, i found a new Sram XO1 derailleur for a steal!

After installing it i found the shifter a hella lot better, but under further inspection i found out why the chain drops on back pedalling

The crank has a spacer from the BB to get the chain line right for Evils built in chain guide, but for a 1x12 throws the chain line so much from the biggest rear cog that it will always pull the chain down, and then the the chain getting stuck is just the derailleur pushing the chain into the casssette

Although it has gotten better with the new mech as there is far less lateral movement

Anyways, stoked it's sorted, and now back to the trails!
