epoh Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 What is your vote ?, I reckon Discovery but not for long... From ivanbasso.netIvan Basso hopes that he will have the opportunity to return to Team CSC in the future. ?Bjarneand I parted as friends,? the former Team CSC star states in a recentinterview with Danish daily Politiken. ?And I hope that I will be ableto return. We concluded that it would be best to part for the moment, but there is nothing that rules out that we may pick up our cooperationat a latter date.? Ivan Basso also expresses understanding forthe conduct of Bjarne Riis over the past couple of months. ?I do notbelieve that Bjarne wanted to treat me poorly. He was forced to act ashe had done. I know and understand that he has the well-being of thewhole team to think off,? Basso comments. Basso admits that right afterthe suspension from the Tour de France, he felt very unfairly treated.?I feel that at the very least we (the riders accused) should have hadthe chance to let our lawyers review the case, before a decision ofsuch significance for a rider be taken.? Ivan Basso confirmedthat he is still looking for a team, although he noted that if he wereonly interested in money, he would already have signed a contract. However, he is delaying the decision while studying the circumstancesof the various teams he is considering. Giovanni Lombardi,Basso?s teammate at Team CSC who is retiring after this season, hasconfirmed that he intends to start working as an rider agent in thefuture. Among the riders that he is likely to be representing are, inaddition to Ivan Basso, also Franck and Andy Schleck. epoh2006-10-24 23:41:38
101% Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I would like to see him at Barloworld ..But a proffesional cyclist has a relatively short career which could be over in one fall....so my head says Discovery, cause they have the financial back up to treat Ivan they way Lance was treated and build a team around him,
linnega Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 What on earth is Lombardi doing acting as an agent. He has consistently said that when he retires from cycling he wants to focus on his shoe shop in Madrid.
