I need advice from someone who has bought from an overseas company (in my case I'm looking to buy a few things from CRC).

1. How much can I prepare to spend on duties/tax once the item arrives on our shores? (shoes)

2. How long (average) would it take for the item to arrive?

Have a quick run through the search function. There are a few threads that explain the process, the pros/cons and taxes/duties.

Don't buy shoes, with taxes and clearance fees from courier, you'll pay double. If you use post office, the item could take a month to arrive. Courier companies will charge you twice, once when you pay for the items and again when it arrives.

There is a thread that I posted on with the complete cost for bringing in a pair of five tens...paid R400 more compared to SA sites. Problem in SA though is stock is limited and there are hardly any sizes available in SA.

 

Two 2 weeks to receive my goods...due to Skynet and using the "express" option :| ; CRC dispatched the usual speedy time.
