JaredWatkins Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Hi guys, very new to BikeHub. I'm looking at buying my FIRST mtn bike. Looking at the Scott Spark 970 2019 model. Can't really find to many reviews on the bike or online (Internet / YouTube) any thoughts or should I be looking at something different in that price range. Thanks
Christofison Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 I would say that's a pretty good all-round bike for a first timer. You'll realise along the way if you want a more XC focussed race bike, or more towards the trail/am/enduro side of things.

I believe the spark has remote lockout on front forks and rear suspension. @ dexter havnt even considered Titan. I should look and see what they have
thebob Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Lockouts are great if you need them. Surely the point of a dual sus bike it to have the squish, otherwise stick to a hard tail? Had a Spark, ended up removing the fork lockout as I did not see the need for it. On my current bike I leave it open 99.9% of the time.

Dealing with CycleLab at the moment in Durban on a deal so will go through later and see what else the offer in that range.Â
