Sad reality is there are very view places I'd let my kid ride alone like that in ZA

Yeah, Nonno-bike... but if watch my other video "The Old Railway" you'll have the chance so see "bisnonno" (great grandfather)  

 

And about the driving environment... we don't have many places where children can ride on their own here too - Lake Como area is very busy - however a few spots are quite nice.
