Sram Apex compatability

Hi, would like to know if someone got it right to use Sram Apex shifters with the Sram XO 11spd rear mech?

 

Did it work smoothly or was there one or two hacks you needed to figure it out.

 

Looking at building a gravelbike with a hardtail mtb frame.

As far as I know all Sram mtb and gravel 11 speed gear is cross-compatible. One of the things I wish Shimano could take from Sram's book.

Sorry to say, but SRAM MTB 11 speed derailleurs are not compatible with the 11 speed road shifters (x-actuation on MTB vs exact-actuation on road). What you *CAN* mix is the 11 speed road shifters with the 10 speed MTB derailleurs as they do use the same exact-actuation.

 

My suggestion (if you are not wanting to run a road 11 speed derailleur) would be to try and find an XO 10 speed derailleur with a clutch-that will give you the benefit of the chain retention and compatibility with the apex shifters.
