Can anybody advise the status of the M4 from Umhlanga towards Ballito?

Believe the road is closed due to wash away during the recent severe weather.

I was wondering if we can cycle along the closed road as far as the road works and back to Umhlanga?

The road is closed at umhlanga, just after portland drive, so you'll have a very short ride.

You can start from Sibaya and ride out to Ballito.

I’m taking advantage of the section of full road closure for training during the week!

 

I park at the BP garage at the Sibaya circle and ride towards the damaged section of the road and back - a few circuits of this route is great training without worrying about traffic.
