Cracked Dropout - Specialized Frame

Today while I was riding past Llandudno my frame's right hand side drop-out (holding the rear deraileur) snapped in half, luckily  I was going slowly. Confused

So I'd like to know:

a) Has this happened to any other Specialized owner on The Hub (or anyone else for that matter)?

b) Are the dropouts included in the lifetime frame warrenty?

Thanks

Is it the derailleur hanger that broke or the dropout, and is the derailleur hanger removeable.  Anything permanently attached to the frame should be covered by the frame warranty for manufacturing defects, but if the hanger snapped (removeable or not) the manufacturer would have a good case to argue that it is the result of impact while loading the bike or similar.

Yes, think last time I had it replaced it was R35. Probably depends on your lbsCVANC2006-10-27 00:46:57
