Garmin 5x plus vs 6x Pro

I have had a Fenix 3 for the last 5 years and am ready to upgrade, and I am keen to find opinions from anyone that has had both watches. I have seen DCRainmakers comparisons on both watches, and they both seem like great watches. On bikehub, I have seen the 5x Plus for sale at around the R8k mark and the 6x Pro at around R10k (both "lightly" used). So I suppose I am asking if the 6 is 25% better than the 5?

Short answer. YES

 

Had the 3HR -> 5 Sapphire -> 6X Sapphire

 

The upgrade is only worth it to the 6X Sapphire due to the larger screen

If you want to get 5 years out your next purchase then go for the 6 now.

I have the 5x and see enough reason to upgrade but not prepared to spend that amount until my current dies. Maybe the 7 is out by then, but I certainly would not buy a previous generation device. You quite literally going to get less life out of it.

I am definitely leaning toward the 6x pro! 

Anyone know of any GREAT deals going on this model? I know that is the latest model, but no harm in trying!
