Oh the other thing I've just thought about is the headunits themselves.

Have you updated the software on the garmin headunits recently?

When I update to the v9.5.0 my Quarq suddenly calibrated at over 1200. Got some weird power readings initially on that ride before it started to settle.

Connected the PM up to Qalvin Legacy and connected but wouldn't calibrate. Connected to the Stages Dash to run a calibration and it returned a number >1200 <1500 as well. Ten days later the PM calibration has drifted back down to the mid 200's and it connects to Qalvin and diagnostics returns no anomalies and calibration (zero reset) works fine returning similar numbers to the Garmin and Stages.

This is the 2nd time this has happened and both occasions relate back to a Garmin Headunit software update.

I haven't tried this but maybe delete the PM from the sensor list, and try reconnecting to see if that works. I have found Qalvin Legacy to be a little sensitive to internet upload speed. Possibly due to running on an old server (might have absolutely nothing to do with the problem you're having)

Tried deleting it and adding the PM again to both the Fenix and edge

Maybe the new App will connect and update?

I remember that at some stage the Qalvin app stopped being supported and they went over to the SRAM app.

Not 100% sure thought but worth a shot yes?

The new app is the axs isn't it? I think I hat only for the newer PM's

Quarq did a firmware update back in 2014 to use the accelerometer for cadence, so doubt it is the magnet as it is no longer required

That's correct but when I bought mine new it was not updated. I didn't know about the update till I installed qalvin legacy and it it started updating the PM.

It's worth a shot. But the lack of the magnet will only affect the cadence and hence power calculation. It will not prevent a connection to the garmin head unit or your laptop.

you do have an ANT+ dongle plugged into the laptop or desktop computer right...?

Yean have the dongle or else it won't send a signal to the PC. I think my best bet to is to book it in and have the agents check it out
