SRAM Apex & Force Brake Caliper/Shifter compatibility

Hi all,

 

My question: Are Force calipers and brakes compatible with Apex (and vice versa)

 

Context: I have separate force and apex hydraulic groupsets. The apex is a post mount and the force is a flat mount. I am wanting to swop only the calipers so that i use the Force groupset on my nicer bike but i use the apex post mount calipers (as this is what the bike frame takes).

The bike is with my LBS and they are saying that the Force shifters/brakes dont fully activate the calipers and they suspect that there is a compatibility issue (something with reservoir size)...i dont know if this is true or they havent installed /bled the brakes properly
