Learning more about the bike components and optimum setup.

First hack. How to remove the specialized stout cranks. Dust cap comes off , non drive crank removed and spindle with spacer seems stiff. Do I use some penetrating oil and mallet ?

The goal is to inspect what i think is a press fit bb but also replace it

Not sure about that BB. Do you want to upgrade the BB, or just the crank to something lighter?

My Camber came with PF30 BB which I upgraded to Wheels Manufacturing unit that allows you to remove and replace only the bearings.

Hey Riaan

I want to replace the bb. Where did you get that wheels one ? Is it aluminum cups and then you just replace bearings ?

My LBS did it for me, and any shop should be able to. You can Google them to check which specific one you will need to fit both your frame and crank.

Yes that's how I understand it to work. It's a popular choice for guys with squeaky PF BB's and way cheaper to just replace the bearings if needed. Mine is still 100% 3 years later
