Anyone had any luck getting a new permanent ID card? From what I can see they stopped issuing permanent ones when we first went into lockdown last year and havent resumed.

 

For some reason you can get a temporary one but not a permanent one. Tried going through FNB but they aren't processing at the moment (because HA isn't I think).

 

I've tried to understand the logic between issuing temp ones but not permanent ones but I came up with nothing.

Same idiotic logic that I cannot get one since I was not born here, but am a full citizen since 1977 !

I also heard that but I got one. 

To clarify,  also not born here, came to SA as a British citizen  and became a  SA citizen after.
