Good morning to all

I am toying with the idea of building up a race ready dual suspension. After researching new frame designs etc, my heart is set on a epic frame, preferably a 2021 design, for a few reasons:

  • New age geo
  • Space for 2 bottles
  • Beautiful paint jobs
  • Brain suspension
On the other hand, looking at the Epic comp, coming in at R83000 for a decent build (12-speed SLX groupset and brakeset, Rockshox reba fork, alloy wheels), it is worth trying to build up for less than that?

Any advice or builds I could compare to would be appreciated!

TIA, cheers

It will cost you more to build up a bike from components than it will to buy a complete one.

Spez has a bunch of different price points, rather pick something that is readily available.

As far as I know you can only buy S-Works frame sets from Spez, you are therefore unlikely to get a build done cheaper as the S-Works frame will come in close to the Comp price.
