Secunda road routes advice

At short notice, looks like I'm heading up to Secunda this weekend for a family function and I wanted to squeeze in a ride to 'see the sights' (I've never been to Secunda before). Would anyone have any advice for a *road* route of 50-60km or thereabouts? Similarly, any advice on roads to avoid e.g. N17?? TIA.

Or does anyone know if the MynPad (sp?) is tar or gravel?

If it is the same mynpad that goes in the direction of Boksburg, it was tarred the one time I drove it (circa 2006). But users hit that road at super high speed, so I'd stay off it on a bicycle.

Hi. The “mynpad” is the safest option by far. It is tarred from secunda for a 20km road that ends at a dirt road (that goes to Bethal). Mynpad surface is very smooth, with minimal traffic, as the mine was decommissioned a few years ago. We normally do laps on the mynpad (40km out and back with around 330m of ascent). Boring, but safe. There are other loops available for road biking, but best to do them in a larger group as there is more traffic. You are welcome to PM me for details. 
 

edit** Please avoid the N17 at all costs. Too dangerous as drivers are absolute maniacs on that road.

No this is not the popular “mynpad” . The mynpad questioned goes in an easterly direction from secunda

Oh, and good luck if you are a strava segment hunter…Some fast guys that know the wind conditions to set up crazy times on all Secunda’s segments????
