Hi all

I was wondering if anyone knows of ladies or even small groups of MTB riders that often ride Table mountain/ Signal and surround's.

I usually mission alone. Big groups tend to have all levels of fitness and rides are very social. They also tend to do mornings, which is a bit more difficult.

I know there are ladies groups but they do skill training and their riding hours are in working hours.

If anyone knows of such groups or even individuals wanting to do 2 or so rides a week that would be so great!

Fitness levels are good, Equally good at both uphill/ downhill. Know the City bowl trails quite well, keen to explore new trails.

Live in the Oranjezicht area, quite easy to enter the mountain from different directions!

Hi

I’ve been riding on my own for 7 months now moved to Newlands from Jhb and thinking to start training for the epic . I’d like to also try find a group to ride with if possible yesterday I was in Tokai on my ace and at times I do feel uneasy being alone

I have ridden tokai hundreds of times (thrice a week or more) and I can assure you it is completely crime free. I can understand you being scared about falling and no-one being there to help you or call someone, but it is really, really safe from a crime point of view.

Wow ok thanks for that I did notice some big rocks yesterday on the road that weren’t there last week I think it’s cause of the rain . that was actually my main concern was getting taken out by a boulder . So yesterday I became a member of Helivac . You pay like R130 a month for your family and download an app that can be used as a panic button . Then they locate you and send whatever vehicle or means to get you out of there .  So at least now if I get hit by a boulder or washed down the mountain and I’m alive to push the button on my hopefully not mangled or drowned phone I can get help 😂

I believe Ciovita organise group rides near where you are? Alternatively there’s also East City Cycles.

Thank you for that I’ll defiantly check that out
