bleedToWin Posted August 12, 2022 Share Durbie Dash discussions, specifically that the "long" route is too easy, got me thinking - could the SA road scene benefit from adopting a finishing circuit in road races for the Elites like we see in many European races? Durbie Dash does not have options for a 3 x 15km circuit, but one lap of Vissershok + Malanshoogte and back onto Adderley could theoretically work. Speaking more generally, adding ~50km on a tough circuit for the Elites at the end of a fondo type event would solve two problems IMO. It would make the racing tougher and more exciting for the racers, while keeping the main event accessible to a wider demographic. It would enable non-elites to spectate racing at an event where they are also participating. Sid the Sloth, Akon and babse
