I'm looking for a grown up BMX, but the classifieds on here have nothing, and I don't think I have ever seen one for sale in any bike shop I have ever been in. Where would one go if you wanted to buy a DJ bike locally?

Alternatively, if I wanted to build one, what frames would work? Dropouts would obviously be an issue on most mountain bikes meant for rear deraliuers, but I guess a chain tensioner would work to convert to SS.

So could I basically get any small 26inch hardtail frame, and fit a sturdy 100mm fork to it and slam the seat, or are they generally not sturdy enough in the BB and head tube areas? Are there any frames more suited to this kind of conversion? Can you play around with the stack height enough to get the geo right on a frame originally meant for XC?

Then forks, which older 26inch forks are better suited? Do the airforks stand up to the abuse? I mean you would be running them pretty close to max PSI all the time, and taking some big hits into berms or up the face of a jump? Are there coil conversion kits for the older 26 inch REBA etc 100mm forks? Or should I look at a newer 27.5 fork and just run it with the 26 wheels?

There are a couple....

https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/c/dirt-jump-mountain-bikes

Otherwise;

https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/octane-one-zircus-frame-2022/rp-prod203189

These frames are pretty good for the price.

There is a set of Marzo DJ coil forks in the classifieds.

No sure why, but when I selected DJ bikes in the classifieds it said zero results, but I see them now.

Will browse quickly and have a look at that frame you posted from Chain Reaction also. I'm going to London in three weeks, so I could get it shipped for free also....

If a Banshee Amp interests you, let me know...

Full bike or just a frame? I have sent you a pm for more details. Definitely interested

Frame or complete, but would be a custom build - Banshee haven't done build kits since the Covid supply chain hack.

There are a few Pike DJs around, some nice SS hubs...
